Hollywood Returns to the Obama Fold With Potential record Fundraiser

Hollywood Returns to the Obama Fold With Potential record Fundraiser

As I wrote again and again during all those stories about how Hollywood was angry with Obama and wouldn’t pony up the cash — it was utter and complete nonsense.

All Hollywood was trying to do was to push Obama even further to the left. It was all a ploy from spoiled crybabies who didn’t get all the socialism they were promised.

Not only will Hollywood get in line this year, but according to box office-poison George Clooney, in a single event Tinseltown will exceed all of their 2008 contributions.

WSJ:

Actor George Clooney said Saturday that a fund raising dinner at his Los Angeles home on May 10 would raise $10 million for the president’s re-election, the largest amount ever for a single Obama campaign event. If true, that would exceed the sum the Obama campaign raised from the entertainment industry in the 2008 presidential race.

Obama campaign officials said Sunday that Mr. Clooney’s number may be inflated, but they concurred that the event, priced at $40,000 a person, is likely to be lucrative. And it may signal that Mr. Obama successfully mollified dismayed Hollywood executives when he personally called them in the wake of the January anti-piracy decision.

And it’s only April.
