The suits over at MTV must think it’s still 2008.
The network, whose allegedly nonpartisan Rock the Vote campaign leans decidedly to the left, is changing the start time for its annual Video Music Awards telecast to avoid a conflict with President Barack Obama’s Sept. 6 acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention.
Once upon a time the nation’s youth couldn’t get enough of Obama’s Hope and Change. Today, they can’t get jobs, and the youthful passion that helped Obama get elected continues to fade.
But that’s not stopping MTV from bowing to the ghost of the 2008 presidential candidate all the same.
