'Hollywood Reporter' Attacks Brad Pitt's Mom as 'Anti-Gay'

'Hollywood Reporter' Attacks Brad Pitt's Mom as 'Anti-Gay'

There is absolutely nothing anti-gay in this:

I have given much thought to Richard Stoecker’s letter (“Vote for Mormon against beliefs,” June 15). I am also a Christian and differ with the Mormon religion.

But I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

I hope all Christians give their vote prayerful consideration because voting is a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility.

That’s the full text of a letter to the editor written by Jane Pitt, Brad Pitt’s mother — a letter anti-Christian bigot, THR’s Seth Abromovitch, declares as “anti-gay” in both his story and its headline.

Unless you are desperate to smear a Christian for being Christian, there’s absolutely nothing “anti-gay” about that letter. Unless of course we are now counting opposition to same-sex marriage as “anti-gay” — as a subjective way to declare as bigots those of us who share the same position on the issue that Barack Obama did up until a few weeks ago.

As far as “[Romney] shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon” — I guess now the Christian religion is “anti-gay.”Had Mrs. Pitt used the words “homosexuals” as opposed to “homosexuality,” that would’ve made a difference, but it’s all the difference in the world — the difference between behavior and humanity.

The only bigot here is the “Hollywood Reporter” which is now attacking Christians for being Christian and lumping as anti-gay the perfectly reasonable position of opposing same-sex marriage.

I wonder if Brad Pitt will stand up for his mother against this bigoted attack or put his standing in Hollywood first.

Anyway, it’s nice to know Brangelina both come from good stock.
