Chili Peppers Set to Rock Tel Aviv

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will put politics aside during their planned Tel Aviv concert tonight.

The punk rockers, known for their left-of-center stances including support for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, will play their first concert in Israel.

A crowd of tens of thousands is expected for Monday night’s show at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers canceled a scheduled performance in 2001 at the last minute due to the second Palestinian intifada.

The news isn’t sitting well with some on the Left. Consider this Facebook page with more than 1,000 “likes” imploring the madcap rockers to scuttle their plans at the last minute.
