President Barack Obama has squeezed as much money as possible from Hollywood’s coffers, trading in on his cool cache alongside the likes of Beyonce, George Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Now, it’s Mitt Romney’s turn.
The GOP presidential hopeful reached out to those rare, right-of-center artists over the weekend, walking away with a hefty $6 million haul.
“This weekend’s event was very successful and there are plans to try to get the Governor back in Los Angeles again after the first or second debate for a similar occasion,” a source close to the Romney campaign told Deadline.
Saturday’s fundraiser, including music by veteran actor and crooner Robert Davi (who earned a standing ovation for his rendition of “The House I Live In”) and David Foster, also featured Dennis Miller and a bevy of Hollywood heavy hitters:
Megaproducer Jerry Bruckheimer and wife Linda, former Warner Bros. chair Terry Semel,Children of a Lesser God producer Burt Sugarman, Frank Price, former head of both Columbia Pictures and Universal Pictures and his wife, Katherine, DC 9/11: A Time of Crisis writer/producer Lionel Chetwynd, General Hospital actor, John O’Hurley, CSI:NY’s Gary Sinise and Everyone Loves Raymond’s Patricia Heaton were at the event, Deadline has confirmed.
