'Beatles Stories' Hits L.A., Recalls Lennon's Reagan Conversion

Did you know Ben Kingsley has a Beatles story? So do Graham Nash, Art Garfunkel, Jon Voight, Henry Winkler, Brian Wilson and Susanna Hoffs.

Seth Swirsky gathers them together in the new documentary “Beatles Stories,” available tomorrow on DVD and digital download. The film lets the famous – and not so famous – recall chance encounters with the legendary band. “Stories” recalls humorous and musical interludes with the four lads from Liverpool, but it also features a moment when John Lennon’s personal assistant describes the Beatle’s admiration for President Ronald Reagan.

The DVD includes a half hour of bonus “Stories” from Felix Cavaliere, Dave Edmunds, Denny Doherty, Graham Gouldman, Peter Tork and many more, plus outtakes of the Beatles’ first and longtime first recording engineer Norman Smith and a Director’s Commentary.

California residents can see the film on the big screen in its Los Angeles premiere at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow night at the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Blvd. Swirsky will be on hand to sign DVDs and partake in a Fab Four Q&A with “Breakfast with the Beatles” host Chris Carter. Tickets are available via Fandango.com.

Swirsky will also be doing a talk and DVD signing at 4 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove.
