'Family Guy' Creator to Host Oscars

The man who gave us Stewie, Cleveland and that trash-talking bear movie will succeed Billy Crystal as host of the 2013 Academy Awards telecast.

TheWrap.com reports Seth MacFarlane has been chosen to take on, arguably, the toughest gig in Hollywood.

MacFarlane recently hosted “Saturday Night Live” and his feature directorial debut, “Ted,” became one of the summer’s biggest hits.

The prolific MacFarlane is responsible for “Family Guy,” “The Cleveland Show” and “American Dad” on the small screen, and he’s also an accomplished singer who performs classic songs with a big band ensemble.
