Zombie Doc Wants Your Support, Not Brains

Zombie Doc Wants Your Support, Not Brains

Let’s face it. Americans are obsessed with zombies.

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” keeps shattering viewership records while filmmakers led by zombie king George A. Romero continue to crank out undead features brimming with social commentary – and mutilated flesh.

And, anyone fortunate enough to be in Denver last weekend saw the city’s bustling 16th Street corridor overrun by zombie enthusiasts sporting state of the art makeup.

Enter “Doc of the Dead,” an upcoming documentary from Alexandre O. Philippe, the creator of “The People vs. George Lucas.” Dubbed “the definitive zombie culture documentary,” the film features appearances by “Shaun of the Dead’s” Simon Pegg, Romero as well as author Max Brooks (“World War Z,” soon to be a major feature film with Brad Pitt).

The film crew has turned to Kickstarter to help complete the project. The rest, in our social media age, is up to undead-lovin’ movie fans everywhere.
