Bob Dylan Predicts Electoral Landslide for … Obama?

A few weeks back Rolling Stone magazine all but begged Bob Dylan to vocally support President Barack Obama. The folk rock legend politely refused.

Last night, Dylan appeared to change his mind during a concert appearance. Dylan says he thinks President Barack Obama is going to win in a landslide.

Dylan spoke to the Madison audience as he was wrapping up his concert that came just hours after Obama appeared at a morning rally in the same city with rocker Bruce Springsteen.

Dylan made his comments during his encore when he said, “We tried to play good tonight since the president was here today.”

He went on to say he thinks Obama will prevail Tuesday.

Dylan says, “Don’t believe the media. I think it’s going to be a landslide.”

Color us conspiratorial, but it’s odd that the AP account lacks a direct quote about Dylan’s prediction. Could it be that he left his intentions purposely blank and the reporter connected some dots? Maybe his famed lack of elocution caught the reporter on site unprepared to translate properly?

Or, maybe Dylan decided to lay all his cards on the table, figuring his pro-Obama bent won’t negatively impact sales of his most recent album at this point?
