HBO Preps 'Game Change' Sequel

HBO Preps 'Game Change' Sequel

HBO wants to stay in the “Game Change” business.

The liberal cable outlet quickly gobbled up the rights to “Double Down: Game Change 2012” by political authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. The book won’t hit store shelves until Fall of 2013, but HBO wants to make a film version of it all the same.

This time, the focus will be on the Obama vs. Romney battle for the White House.

HBO’s “Game Change” trashed former Gov. Sarah Palin with fabricated narratives, sequences and characterizations. It still won a handful of Emmys, including one for Julianne Moore’s cartoonish turn as the fiery politician and Tea Party favorite. The creative team behind the film is expected to return for the sequel.
