'Adam's Rib' Filmed in Same Town as Conn. School Shooting

Media reports of the Connecticut town where a 20-year-old man shot and killed 28 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School has been described as a quaint, picturesque community, the kind any American would love to call home.

That spell has been shattered by last week’s violence, but Newtown’s charms weren’t lost on old Hollywood.

The Spencer Tracy-Katharine Hepburn comedy “Adam’s Rib” was filmed decades ago on a lake in the town, now a bedroom community of 27,000 where executives commute to Manhattan.

The film cast the screen legends as husband and wife lawyers who take sides in a contentious marital case involving attempted murder.
