January can be a very long month for movie fans.
The December glut of Oscar-bait films is subsiding, the Summer movie season is still months away and studios often use the month as a dumping ground for unspectacular product.
This month, Cinemark is offering an alternative – classic films back on the big screen.
The latest installment of the “Classics Series” will bring “Rocky,” “The Sound of Music” and three other memorable movies to 150 theaters nationwide. The digitally restored movies will play through early February at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Jan 9: “Rocky” (PG)
Jan. 16: “The Sound of Music (Rated G)
Jan. 23: “To Catch A Thief” (NR)
Jan. 30: “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid” (PG)
Feb. 6: “Saturday Night Fever” (R)
