'Friends' Star Matthew Perry Visits D.C. to Support Drug Courts

Celebrities descending on the Nation’s Capital to promote political causes is hardly new, but in recent weeks we’ve seen stars do so with very little connection to the topic in play.

Yes, we’re thinking about Bradley Cooper discussing mental health issues in D.C. after playing a man with bipolar disorder in Silver Linings Playbook.

So it’s oddly refreshing to see former Friends star Matthew Perry, who has famously battled addiction issues, hit the Hill to support additional drug courts funding.

Drug courts are “problem-solving” programs that deals specifically with criminal offenders who have dependency issues like drug and alcohol addiction.
