Sacrifice: Ben Affleck to Live on $1.50 for Five Days to Promote Charity

LOS ANGELES, April 23 (UPI)–Hollywood actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck says he will take the Live Below the Line challenge next week and spend no more than $1.50 on food and drink in a day.

OMG! said the Oscar-winning “Argo” director is attempting to raise awareness and funds for The Global Poverty Project, which is described on its website as being dedicated to “increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to see an end to extreme poverty.”

The $1.50 is considered an accepted global figure to define the problem, OMG! said.

Also taking the challenge along with Affleck are Sophia Bush, Josh Groban, Debi Mazar and Hunter Biden.

The celebrities are expected to tweet about what they are eating and drinking during the day they take the challenge, OMG! said.

Note: Post headline originally indicated Affleck’s mission would involve a single day. The effort will be for five days
