Miley Cyrus Sings About Ecstasy, Strippers on New Track

As is the pattern with former Disney child stars who once represented the force of innocence and then moved to the dark side, Miley Cyrus released a new single on Monday with apparent references to using cocaine, ecstasy and strippers.

The song We Can’t Stop by the former star of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana features lyrics such as: “La-da-di-da-di, we like to party/Dancing with Molly,” a slang reference to ecstasy, often called Molly, and “shaking it like we at a strip club.” Some of the lyrics apparently reference doing “lines in the bathroom.” The cover for the new song features Cyrus in a skimpy black monokini.

Only last Friday, Cyrus was spotted wearing a sweater emblazoned with the phrase, “Sex, Drugs and Rap.” And last month at the Billboard Awards, Cyrus blathered that her new style of music fit her much better than what she had sung before, saying, “I feel like I can really be myself, really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now.”

Hey, Mickey and Minnie, Get your hands up, they’re playin’ your song. And now you’re gonna be okay, ’cause Miley’s havin’ a Party in the USA!
