Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' Slated for 2014 Oscar Season

Christopher Nolan, the pop culture auteur who brought Batman roaring back to life with the Dark Knight trilogy, is turning his attention to the cosmos.

The director’s next film, Interstellar, has both a cast and a release date–Nov. 7 2014. That’s right in the middle of awards season, and while the science fiction genre isn’t Oscar catnip, Nolan’s attachment means the Oscar buzz will begin long before it hits theaters.

Interstellar will star Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine, who has appeared in the last five Nolan directorial features.

Director Steven Spielberg was previously attached to the project.
