Hollywood has already picked up on the dramatic story of Edward Snowden, the leaker of National Security Agency surveillance information. According to the Hollywood Reporter, a William Morris-agented project about Snowden is “making the rounds, with a sale imminent.”
A drone project is also in the works, the Reporter says. Writer Spenser Cohen will be penning a project to be produced by Lakeshore Entertainment. The Reporter says, “The logline for the action thriller with military elements is being kept under wraps but will mirror some of the Obama administration’s use of drone strikes that has sparked controversy of late, putting the president on the defensive about the high-tech program that allows servicemen stationed in the United States to take out suspected terrorists abroad.” Cohen sold a script titled High Value Target last year centering around Somali pirates and special forces.
