Sony Inviting Vets to See Far-Left 'White House Down' for Free on Fourth

Sony is inviting U.S. military members to see its new action film White House Down for free on July 4.

Come for the brainless thrills and Channing Tatum’s heroism, but do stay for the slams against defense contractors and the “military industrial complex.”

White House Down features a heroic version of President Barack Obama (played by Jamie Foxx) who wants to pull all U.S. troops out of the Middle East. That’s hardly the message veterans who may still have friends and family serving honorably in Afghanistan will want to hear on the Fourth of July.

The film studio’s intentions are certainly noble, as is any outreach to the brave men and women of the U.S. Military. It’s hard not to question, though, the choice of movie.

White House Down has been a flop in its first few days of release, coming in fourth place during its initial weekend despite a massive publicity campaign.
