Obama Nominates Hollywood Veteran for Plum U.N. Post

The back-scratching relationship between President Barack Obama and the entertainment industry continued this week, months after Hollywood did all it could to assure the president’s re-election.

President Obama nominated Crystal Nix-Hines to be the U.S.’s Permament Representative to the UN’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Currently Of Counsel specializing in entertainment law and IP at LA’s Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, the former State Department employee was a writer, executive editor and co-producer on big Obama fan JJ Abrams’ Alias from 2002-2003….

Nix-Hines was a major fundraiser for the president’s re-election campaign last year. The former New York Times reporter and TV scribe raised $476,900 in 2011 and 2012 for the incumbent and has raised more than $1.2M for Obama since he first announced his race for the White House back in 2007.
