'The Butler' Star Terrance Howard Evicted from NY Apartment for Squatting

Iron Man and The Butler co-star Terrance Howard has been accused of squatting and was evicted from an expensive SoHo apartment in New York after failing to pay over a year’s worth of unpaid rent.

The landlord’s attorney, Lawrence Wolf, said of Howard, “He’s just another deadbeat. He owes about $55,000.”

Howard moved into the apartment on West Broadway in November of 2011 but never paid rent, a new lawsuit alleges. And even after his lease expired in 2012, he never moved out.

Wolf told the media that there are no disputes between Howard and the landlord, BLDG Management, Inc. “The issue is strictly the nonpayment,” he said.

The actor has had several other brushes with the law. Only weeks ago Howard was accused of beating his ex-wife as they vacationed in Costa Rica. The couple divorced in May but ex-wife Michelle Ghent still agreed to accompany Howard on the trip.

Howard was also arrested in 2001 for assaulting his first wife, Lori McCommas.
