Lena Dunham Calls Her Nude Scenes 'Essentially Important in My Contribution to the World'

Actress Sharon Stone insists being nude on screen is an important way to ensure realistic storytelling.

Lena Dunham of Girls fame says it’s far more important than that.

Dunham told Marie Claire UK how much she values being naked on screen despite not having an idealized figure. The stakes, as she puts it, are terribly high.

I don’t think I’d be able to do that if I didn’t think it was essentially important in my contribution to the world,” she said. “I don’t think I’d be able to do this and put myself in all these situations on camera that are kind of humiliating and uncomfortable. Nobody wants to sit there doggy-style for ten hours while they shoot or whatever. It’s not sexy or glamorous.
