'I, Frankenstein' Trailer Talk: Mary Shelley's Iconic Monster Moves into the 21st Century

The trailer for the upcoming I, Frankenstein has hit the web. The film is a re-imagining of Frankenstein’s monster from some of the minds that brought the Underworld franchise to life. Check out the trailer and some thoughts below.

The special effects look fantastic, and the movie will probably flourish visually in IMAX, but I can’t say this trailer doesn’t earn a few eye rolls and chuckles. Aaron Eckhart’s performance looks overly serious, and it’s strange to see Frankenstein’s monster with a celebrity haircut and a body he probably got from doing the Insanity workout. Still, the movie could be B-movie fun like the Underworld franchise.

I, Frankenstein hits theaters Jan. 24, 2014.
