'Duck Dynasty' Star to Attend SOTU

The star of a reality show clan President Barack Obama once dubbed a “pretty fun bunch” will be in attendance during tonight’s State of the Union address.

Willie Robertson, part of A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty, will be the guest of Rep. Vance McAllister. The Louisiana Republican shared the news via Twitter earlier today.

Duck Dynasty, which follows a family of God-fearing, gun-loving entrepreneurs, is set in Louisiana. The show draws the support of conservative viewers for its wholesome themes and embrace of spirituality. Late last year, show patriarch Phil Robertson’s comments about the gay lifestyle to GQ Magazine convinced A&E to briefly suspend the reality show star. New Media pressure helped convince the network to lift the ban after less that two weeks.

Willie Robertson endorsed McAllister last year during a special election in Louisiana.
