Even Saturday Night Live can’t ignore the one-two punch of failing health care reform and a president so desperate to hawk it he’ll degrade the office to do so.
The politically aware show has gone mostly soft on President Barack Obama since he took office in 2009. Yet the rollout of ObamaCare has been so disastrous the NBC comedy show can’t help but mock it a time or two.
Last night was such an occasion, as the show’s opening segment featured Obama (Jay Pharoah) doing literally anything to promote health care reform via social media.
He danced with Pope Francis, wore Pharrell’s oversized hat and even made out with Justin Bieber. Will this become a meme or just a random act of comic satire?
