Justin Bieber Detained at LAX, Then Released

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber was detained at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, according to a report in Us Weekly, but has since been released.

Bieber was arriving from a trip to Asia, and this “latest development comes just one week after the White House responded to a petition that requested the U.S. government deport the Canadian native.”

“Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one,” the White House statement said in response to a petition, which has received more than 275,00 signatures, to deport Bieber. That petition originated after Bieber’s DUI arrest in Miami in January.

People reported that Bieber was being held by U.S. Customs officials for “routine secondary questioning.”
