Aziz Ansari Pleads with China: Stop Watching 'Transformers' Sequel

LOS ANGELES, July 10 (UPI)–Transformers 4 may have taken in $100 million in its opening weekend, but actor and comedian Aziz Ansari is begging people to stop watching the movie.

The Parks and Recreation actor pleaded his case on Twitter on Tuesday.

“With all due respect, people of China, stop seeing Transformers so much, you’re making movies worse for everyone!” he wrote.

As of Thursday evening, the tweet was favorited 3,200 times and retweeted 2,200, and while that may not seem like that much, that up more than 100 times from the kind of traffic his prior and subsequent tweets got.

Transformers 4, which stars Mark Wahlberg, debuted nearly two weeks ago, taking in $100 million in its first weekend. It still held the top spot July 4 weekend, taking in $36.4 million.
