Jane Fonda was once married to Ted Turner, the former CNN owner whose liberal views are obvious to anyone who hears him speak. Many dubbed CNN the “Clinton News Network” during the 1990s, and the channel’s biases may have worsened since then.
Now, Fonda fears that another ideological person, mogul Rupert Murdoch, might buy a major media corporation and spread his views to the masses.
Asked by TheWrap.com her thoughts on Murdoch buying Time-Warner The Newsroom star didn’t hesitate to share her outrage.
I think it would be a catastrophe,” Fonda told TheWrap during an interview for her “Newsroom” Emmy nomination and upcoming Netflix series. “If that happens I’m going to be so angry at the FCC. They cannot let that happen.”
“It’s no secret that Rupert uses his media outlets for political reasons. And he is not neutral. And he, you know, his news outlets do things that are unconscionable. And it just cannot happen that he becomes that much of a dominant force in American media.
It’s easy to mock Fonda’s position given the liberal bias across so many modern outlets. The Washington Post, The New York Times and CNN reveal their progressive bent on a near-daily basis. Like many hardcore leftists, though, Fonda likely exists on a news diet sans conservative thought and thinks the media give news a fair shake.
