USA's 'Dig' Leaves Israel Production Site to Avoid Hamas' Rockets

Some celebrities, including Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, have come down harshly on Israel for fighting back against a rain of rockets launched by Hamas in recent weeks.

The cast and crew of Dig, a new series from USA Network, may have a unique perspective on the subject.

The Hollywood Reporter says the show had to pick up and leave Israel, where it had been shooting, for fear of Hamas’ rockets reaching them.

Though a timetable hasn’t been finalized, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network is eyeing a Sept. 1 start date in Croatia and plans to film in the country for approximately 13 days….

The six-episode event series from Tim Kring and Gideon Raff already shot its Jerusalem-centered pilot in the city.

The Hollywood Reporter adds that Dig isn’t the only show impacted by the current fighting.

The conflict has stalled nearly all current and upcoming TV production in the area, and saw FX’s Middle Eastern drama Tyrant relocated to Turkey.
