Random House has announced that it will add a disclaimer to Lena Dunham’s book, Not That Kind of Girl, after an Oberlin student says he was falsely accused of rape.
In the book, the Girls actress tells the story of her sexual assault at the hands of a fellow college student named “Barry,” described as the “campus’s resident conservative.”
While the name Barry was a pseudonym for her true rapist, the description was close enough to an actual former Oberlin student named Barry that he is now having to defend himself from allegations that he assaulted Dunham.
