A Venezuelan man with dreams of becoming a comic book character used extreme body modifications, including the partial removal of his nose, to transform himself into the Marvel villain Red Skull.

37-year-old Henry Damon, of Caracas, “has loved comic books since he was a kid and always dreamed of being Red Skull, but never got round to doing it,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

(Red Skull first appeared in Marvel comics in 1947 as a Nazi agent and the arch-enemy of Captain America.)

After becoming acquainted with medical school dropout Emilio Gonzalez, who specializes in tattoos and extreme body surgery, Damon “knew that this was his opportunity,” the friend said.

Before getting started, Damon, who now officially goes by “Red Skull,” went through a series of physical and psychological tests to ensure he would be able to go through with the changes. (Apparently he passed.)

The man reportedly started with procedures to have several subdermal implants put into his forehead, and eventually had his face and eyes tattooed, red and black, respectively.

Mr. Red Skull wasn’t done there; he had “surgeon” Gonzalez remove part of his nose, and the two have plans to continue the transformation.

“Next will be silicone implants on the cheekbones, chin and cheeks. Then we will tattoo his entire face red and then he will be Red Skull,” Gonzalez told the Daily Mail.

Don’t be afraid of his new appearance, though. While Red Skull is technically a villain, friends insist he is still a “nice guy.”
