People from all walks of life have always flocked to Hollywood to pursue their dreams. One man took advantage of his run-in with destiny over the weekend at a rap concert.

In a scene reminiscent of Eminem’s 8 Mile, rapper Kanye West offered an aspiring rapper his big chance on Saturday night after leaving a Big Sean concert with pal Justin Bieber.

As Kanye’s entourage exited a venue, Cameron Grey, an amateur hip-hop performer, approached the rapper with a request: “Let me rap for you.”

After West agreed to take a listen, Grey free-style rapped, while Biebs encouraged from afar. The performance seemingly impressed Kanye, who then offered Grey an opportunity to start from the bottom of the music totem pole as an assistant.

West, who doesn’t usually smile because he doesn’t think its “cool,” cracked a grin and then took Grey’s personal information.
