Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson was reportedly stabbed in the back of the head by his younger brother after the pair got into a knife fight in the front yard of the musician’s Clive, Iowa, home early Wednesday morning.
Thomson, 41, and his brother Andrew, 35, were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the New York Daily News.
Authorities responded to a call at 4:35 a.m. outside the musician’s home, where they found the brothers armed with knives and fighting. Both brothers were reportedly drunk, according to the Des Moines Register.
“Neither individual was very cooperative,” Clive Police Chief Michael Venema told the Daily News. Our detectives will be following up as soon as their medical condition allows us.”
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor told the band’s fans on Twitter that he had heard the guitarist was “okay.”

Slipknot is scheduled to resume a world tour April 25 in Fort Myers, Florida, before embarking on an ambitious summer tour called Summer’s Last Stand. The band’s latest album, .5: The Gray Chapter, hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last fall.
