Angeline Jolie took home the orange blimp for “Favorite Villain” at Saturday’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for her role as a wicked witch in last year’s Maleficent.

In her acceptance speech, Jolie told her young audience not to be afraid to be different.

“Different is good. So don’t fit in. Don’t sit still,” Jolie said while accepting her award. “Don’t ever try to do less than you are. When somebody tells you you’re different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud. And as your villain, I would also say: cause a little trouble, it’s good for you.”

Jolie’s appearance marked her first public outing since announcing last week that she had undergone surgery to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. The actress was accompanied at the awards show by her children, Shiloh, 8, and Zahara, 10.

Other winners at the Kids’ Choice Awards included Favorite Movie Actor Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum: Secrets of the Tomb), Favorite Movie Actress Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and Favorite Music Group One Direction. The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part I was the night’s big winner, picking up all three of the awards it was nominated for, including Favorite Female Buttkicker for Jennifer Lawrence.
