Justin Bieber “put students at risk” when he crashed a high school prom this past weekend, sources claim.

According to TMZ, the 21-year-old pop singer and his crew showed up unannounced to the Chatsworth High event and barged their way through security at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood.

“His entourage pushed past the school’s security to gain access to the dance floor,” said a Los Angeles Unified School District representative.

The rep added that administrators feared they would lose control of the crowd at one point.

The Biebs was reportedly recording on the lot at the same time, but school officials had been “assured that he would not come out to interfere.”

Conflicting reports from Justin’s representative claim his client received an invite from a few students he met on the lot, and that nobody attempted to stop him from entering the dance.

“It’s unfortunate they’re trying to make this a negative thing,” a rep told TMZ. “It was awesome for all the kids.”

School officials later admitted it was a “once in a lifetime experience” for the students, but did say its primary concern was for their safety.

A tweet was later sent out from the school’s official account, reading: “Justin Bieber showing up at our prom? I think we know who had the best prom this year #cchsprom.”

Justin was quick to reply, writing: “Always wanted to go to prom. Thanks for having me. #promcrasher.”

The pop singer then retweeted several posts from students at the prom.

Bieber also danced with the school’s prom queen, according to her Twitter page.
