Maybe she’s happy to see you, or maybe it’s the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector she bought from Sephora.

Women’s Health magazine has published a “need to know” makeup guide for its readers to look their best during online sex.

Thought you’d heard of everything from feminine literature? Think again, because in a Hollywood driven culture, apparently even digital intimacy comes with rules and etiquette.

Known for being oftentimes outlandish, women’s magazines are now offering advice on how to look great during online sex, and are pursuing their target demographic of single female millennials.

In a new article, titled “How to Look Your Hottest for Skype Sex,” author Shannon Farrell has walked readers through a step-by-step makeup application process on how to captivate a man from behind the computer screen.

(As if being your beautiful and independent God-given self wasn’t enough.)

“You may have date-night makeup down to a science, but if your big night out happens to be in front of the computer screen every once in a while, it’s a whole new ball game,” she wrote. “While your guy may prefer the no makeup-makeup look, a bit more product is required to show up on camera.”

So, what is this big secret to nailing the perfect look to please your online man?

Jessica Scantlin, the head makeup artist at Blushington Makeup and Beauty Lounge in West Hollywood, has broken it down into four simple steps to achieve “a minimal, but semi-glam look.”

First and foremost: The Face

“Dewy makeup makes you look like you’re glowing from seeing him,” she said. “You should always amp up the cheek color to make your cheeks appear flushed.”

Next: The Eyes . (After all, they are the window to the soul, they say.)

“To glam up the eyes, add some shimmer and eyeliner in your waterline,” Scantlin continued. “It honestly is a more sultry approach, and if it starts to run, instead of a raccoon you look more like a Victoria’s Secret model.”

For the lips:

She recommends a softer, nude color. But if you really want to “heat things up,” wear a nude magenta.

“I like to add some peppermint oil,” she said. “This way it looks very glossy but also helps plump your lips so you appear to have been kissing him-even though you haven’t.”

Last, but not least, we have the lighting:

“If you’re Skyping at night, try to make it as bright as possible with the light coming toward you,” said Scantlin. “Never sit with the lighting behind you.” ( She explains this makes your face appear darker).

Scantlin promises your steamy cyber date will run much smoother if you position the light in front of you.

“The light doesn’t have to be a spotlight, but by positioning it so it points toward your face, you will allow your features-and perfect makeup- to shine,” she said.

While Women’s Health is pushing web cam sex makeup tips, other magazines are offering advice for things such as “One Easy Way to Not Look Like a Porn Star” and “Use Ice Cubes To Keep Fat, Acne And Wrinkles At Bay.”

Women have entered into larger societal roles in recent decades, in fact, we have and continue to demand it. But judging by the cover of just about any women’s publication at the checkout line, you certainly wouldn’t know it.

If we aren’t being patronized by feminists, we’re being led by the absurdity that is the overflow of Hollywood culture into our light reading.

Personal fashion and makeup tip: stay away from online sex and opt to wait for love. Men find nothing more attractive than a beautiful woman who embraces both her femininity and independence.

Skip the mags. Be yourself.
