Kid Rock to Al Sharpton Confederate Flag Protesters: Kiss My A**

Earlier this week, the Detroit chapter of Al Sharpton’s National Action Network began protesting a Kid Rock exhibit at a local museum over the musician’s use of the Confederate flag at concerts. Thursday night, Kid issued a blunt response.

A dozen or so members of the Michigan Chapter of the NAN held a small protest Monday in front of the Detroit Historical Museum to target an exhibit that bears Kid Rock’s name.

Rev. Charles Williams II, President of the NAN’s Michigan Chapter and a local pastor said, “the hometown hero who is a zero with the Confederate flag.”

Despite the fact that the museum houses no confederate flags, the group’s political director Sam Riddle also asked, “How in the hell can Kid Rock represent Detroit and wave that flag just generating millions and millions in ticket sales — a flag that represents genocide to most of Detroit?”

Rock had been slow to respond, but during Fox News’ The Kelly File on Thursday night, the musician passed along a message to the protesters through host Megyn Kelly: “Kiss my a**.”

Watch the clip:

Although Kelly said she cleaned up Kid Rock’s language a bit (“kiss my as…k me some questions,” she said), the message seems to be clear: don’t tread on this rocker.

Kelly also pointed out the musician’s young son, Bobby Jr., is part African American.
