Marvel Games has apologized to fans for apparently whitewashing one of the characters in its newest game, called LEGO MARVEL’S AVENGERS.

The company announced earlier this week playable characters in the game would be Iron Stan, Sam Wilson as Captain America, and America Chavez as Miss America; but many were reportedly outraged to find out Miss America’s skin and hair didn’t reflect her Latina heritage.

“Why are you white?” asked one fan. “…….this looks nothing like America Chavez,” said another.

Bill Rosemann, creative director for Marvel Games, answered the wishes of those who were upset over America’s appearance on Wednesday.

“America Chavez fans, we hear you; We’re adjusting her hair & skin to accurately reflect her heritage,” Rosemann wrote on Twitter.

The action-adventure Lego game, which is a spin-off and the second installment of the Lego Marvel franchise, is slated to be released later this year.
