Clueless star Alicia Silverstone’s brother, David, was reportedly arrested in the pot farm bust in Mendocino County in which accused U.S. Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl was also embroiled last Tuesday.
David Silverstone, 43, was arrested for activities at the remote Redwood Valley farm next door to the marijuana operation where Bergdahl was found. Ukiah Sheriff Tom Allman said it was unclear whether the two had contact with one another, but that it was likely Silverstone knew of the neighboring operation, according to the Daily Mail.
Silverstone is being charged with felony “marijuana cultivation, processing” and felony “possession for the sale-marijuana,” according to Mendocino booking records. His bond was set at $25,000.
Bergdahl was not arrested, as he was on approved leave and told authorities he was visiting old friends. He was escorted back to his duty station following the raid.
Bergdahl remains on active duty while he awaits court martial for desertion charges related to activity while deployed in Afghanistan. The Obama administration released five top Taliban commanders from the Guantánamo Bay prison facility back to the Taliban in return for Bergdahl’s release from his Taliban captors.
