‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ Includes Free Access to Entire Franchise

Gamers who purchase Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will receive the entire Gears of War franchise through Xbox One backwards compatibility.

Scheduled for an August 25 release, the estimated retail price for the Ultimate Edition is $39.99, and Xbox One preview program subscribers can, as of August 3, try the enhanced, backwards compatibility version of the original Gears of War.

Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment are included in the package. The Xbox One backwards compatibility will allow players to keep save files, achievements, etc. while adding Snap, Game DVR, and the ability to take screenshots. Alongside a revamped original Gears of War game featuring better graphics and new achievements, the Ultimate Edition also boasts extra maps, missions, modes, and early Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta access.
