Rosie Perez Quit ‘The View’ After ABC Made Her Apologize to Kelly Osbourne Following Latino Remark

Outgoing co-host Rosie Perez skipped her final appearances on “The View” last week, after producers reportedly forced her to repeatedly apologize to Kelly Osbourne following a controversial comment by the former Fashion Police co-host about Latinos.

On Tuesday, August 4, Osbourne joined a discussion about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and said during the “Hot Topics” segment, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”

A shocked Perez corrected Osbourne, saying, “Latinos are not the only people doing that.”

Kelly immediately dialed back the comment, but it was Rosie who was scorned by producers.

According to The Daily Mail, during commercial break, Osbourne burst into tears, and said, “Everyone is going to think I’m racist. I can’t believe this,” as she was consoled.

ABC executives then cornered Perez and coerced her into apologizing to Kelly at the end of the show.

During the final segment, Perez issued an apology: “Kelly Osbourne is on our side and I was sensitive… My disdain should go to only Donald Trump, so I’m sorry, darling.”

Kelly offered Perez a hug and responded, “No need to apologize to me, I love you Rosie!”

The Mail reports the exchange was anything but the end of the controversy, and Rosie stormed off to her dressing room immediately, only to be met by ABC executives, who demanded she take to Twitter to apologize again.

After an argument, Perez was then in tears, but ultimately gave in:

A source close to the show tells The Mail after posting on Twitter, Rosie said she was “done with this f—ing show” and told the ABC executives “to kiss her a—.“

Rosie also reportedly left for good and referred to the studio as “this s—thole of a place!”

After a backlash from her followers for over-apologizing, Perez again took to Twitter:

Two open Christians will replace Perez and former co-host Nicolle Wallace for the show’s upcoming 19th season. ABC correspondent Paula Faris and conservative Christian former “Full House” star Candace Cameron-Bure will debut as full-time co-hosts in September.
