Stoner Job Available as Marijuana Reviewer for Newspaper

Now that the state has legalized recreational marijuana use, a newspaper in Oregon wants to make a stoner’s pipe dream come true for one lucky weed connoisseur.

The Portland-based publication The Oregonian has placed an ad for a “freelance marijuana reviewer,” who will be paid to smoke weed, and then critique certain products for the site’s readers.

Interested candidates must be knowledgeable in different strains of marijuana infused products and be willing to “highlight consumer trends unique to Oregon’s robust cannabis culture and marketplace.”

“The candidate should be an experienced cannabis consumer with deep knowledge about the variety of strains and products available on the Oregon market,” a posting for the job states. “The items would appear 2-4 times a month on OregonLive and/or The Oregonian.”

The only catch: the candidate must be a medical marijuana patient, as recreational pot users are not legally allowed to purchase the drug from dispensaries.

Voters approved Oregon Ballot Measure 91 in November, which legalized the recreational use of and commercial sale of the marijuana.

The law took effect July 1, however businesses cannot begin selling marijuana for non-medical use until Oct. 1. Oregon is now the fourth state to decriminalize weed, the others being Washington, Colorado and Alaska.

Recreational marijuana use is also legal in Washington, D.C.
