Seven years before Jared Fogle confessed to preying on vulnerable children, the former Subway pitchman appeared on VH1 to mock men busted for trying to have sex with teens on NBC’s To Catch a Predator.

The show, starring Chris Hansen, was a national TV phenomenon from 2004 to 2007, and put the spotlight on the seemingly countless number of men who sought to have sex with children they had met on the Internet.

NBC organized meetings online between the perverts, and fictional people they believed were teens looking for sex, and was often so successful, sometimes the sting’s subjects would show up to meet their victims at the same house, at the same time.

Despite the popularity of the show’s nationwide undercover investigations, To Catch a Predator never failed to keep the deviants coming, which Fogle, ironically, found fascinating.

“These guys continue to fall for it every single time. There must be, like, a hundred million episodes of this show, and these guys still come out,” Jared said on an episode of VH1’s I Love the New Millennium in 2008.

Of course, Jared confessed in August to traveling for sex with at least two teens between 2007 and this year, which meant at the time of his VH1 appearance, soon-to-be inmate Fogle had already engaged in sex acts with a child, and was gathering a cache of child porn.

Fogle will spend at least the next five years in prison, as part of a plea deal he accepted, but could spend up to 15 years behind bars.

A former Subway franchisee also claimed a week ago the disgraced diet fiend confessed to having sex with children as young as nine-years-old while in Thailand.
