Hollywood Is Making Another Young Obama Biopic

Barack Obama

A second film chronicling the life of young President Obama has been announced.

On the heels of Southside With You, a film about Obama’s first date with First Lady Michele in 1989, comes Barry.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the indie drama will follow the experiences of the president in New York City in 1981, and it has found a pair of leads in actor Devon Terrell and actress Anya Taylor-Joy.

Terrell, who is making his film debut, will play Obama, while Taylor-Joy, who starred in the horror movie The Witch, will portray a fellow Columbia University student.

Filming on Barry is slated to begin in April. No other details have been announced.

Southside With You premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
