Rap phenom Lil Wayne was waiting to take off from Indianapolis International Airport Saturday when he saw about 30 uniformed military members getting out of their C-130. The Grammy-winning rapper ordered his pilots to let him off his plane so he could meet the military men, shake their hands, and thank them for their service.
Amanda Cooper Lickliter of Indiana watched the event unfold and took pictures.
“There was no press and no one to show off for…just a seemingly genuine act of respect,” Lickliter wrote on Facebook. “I know a lot of controversy surrounds him but, today, I was impressed.”
“To see his whole crew jump off their plane, just as they were getting ready to taxi away, and come in to make my military men smile…it was great,” Lickliter wrote in a comment on her post.
