Ardent Bernie Sanders supporter and actress Rosario Dawson was arrested Friday during a Democracy Spring protest in Washington, D.C.

A video shows the Daredevil actress being handcuffed, along with dozens of other protesters, for allegedly crossing a police barrier and sitting in an unrestricted area.

“We ended up getting told multiple times that we were going to be arrested,” Dawson said, adding that she attended the rally “to be in solidarity with the other folks who put themselves on the line, and also just to bring attention” to the issue of “money in politics.”

“Our collective demand to Congress is that it take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in politics and ensure free & fair elections in which every American has an equal voice,” the Democracy Spring website says.

Dawson announced her full-fledged support of the left-wing group Thursday, writing, “This is our moment. People are waking up, and establishment politicians don’t want that to happen.”

Dawson has been a fierce supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who has also publicly pledged his support of Democracy Spring.

The 36-year-old actress famously attacked Hillary Clinton at a Sanders rally earlier this month and chided the Democratic National Committee’s “rigged” primary process.

Dawson said Democracy Spring is fighting to take “money out of politics … so we can have fair elections where real progressives and people can be going up and run for office and be seen, and we can have true options for our leadership.”

“The police were really great with us and really lovely,” Dawson added. “I have to say that that is not the case for so many people like DREAMers, Black Lives Matter activists.”
