Watch: MGM Drops First Trailer for ‘Magnificent Seven’ Remake

MGM has released the first trailer for director Antoine Fuqua’s remake of the 1960 western The Magnificent Seven.

Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier star in The Magnificent Seven as seven hired guns enlisted to help the people of Rose Creek, who are being exploited by a merciless killer.

Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story, according to IMDB. With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers, and hired guns. As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

The story is originally based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 film Seven Samurai.

The Magnificent Seven will debut on Sep. 23.
