Julianne Moore: Gun Control ‘Not A Second Amendment Issue’

Actress Julianne Moore attended a march for gun control on Saturday, telling attendees that gun control “is not a Second Amendment issue.”

The march was organized by Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action.

Participants in the gun control event marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to demand that Congress expand background checks to more gun purchases. Barbara Parker–mother of slain reporter Alison Parker–took part in the march as well. Breitbart News previously reported that Vester Lee Flanagan, the gunman who killed Parker, passed a background check to acquire his gun.

“This is not a Second Amendment issue! It does not deserve to be hotly debated as such! It is a safety issue!” Moore told marchers, according to Newsday.

Participants in the march carried signs, one of which said, “Gun sense & 2A can coexist.” Another sign criticized concealed carry, saying, “Nobody carrying loaded guns in public is a ‘good guy.'”

The march was the fourth annual Moms Demand gun control march on Mother’s Day weekend.
