Focus Features has released the first trailer for its French-language cannibal horror film Raw, which caused a stir at the Toronto International Film Festival last year when several moviegoers reportedly passed out during the screening.
Raw centers on young vegetarian student Justine (Garance Marillier), who develops a taste for human beings after being forced to eat raw meat during a hazing ritual at her veterinary school.
Ambulances were reportedly called to a screening of the film in Toronto in September when the film became too much for several patrons to handle.
Raw is directed by newcomer Julia Ducournau and also stars Ella Rumpf, Rabah Nait Oufella and Laurent Lucas.
The film is set to play at this month’s Sundance Film Festival after its acquisition by Focus Features. Raw will reportedly be released on March 10 in the United States.
