Watch: Trailer for Wes Anderson’s Stop-Motion ‘Isle of Dogs’

Fox Searchlight released the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s stop-motion animated film Isle of Dogs this week.

Isle of Dogs, Anderson’s first feature since 2014’s Oscar-winning Grand Budapest Hotel, centers on 12-year-old Atari Kobayashi, who sets out on a journey to Trash Island, where all dogs have been banished by the villainous Mayor Kobayashi, to find his dog Spots.

The film is Anderson’s second stop-motion animated feature, after 2010’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox. As with most of the filmmaker’s movies, Isle boasts a star-studded voice cast including Anderson regulars Bill Murray, Edward Norton, and Jason Schwartzman, along with Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, Liev Schreiber, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Bob Balaban, and Frances McDormand.

Anderson wrote and directed the movie, and got help from animation studio Indian Paintbrush for the unique, stop-motion visual styling.

Isle of Dogs is out March 23, 2018.
