Airline Passenger Grabs Mic at Boarding Gate, Turns Flight Delay into Karaoke Session

A man decided to lighten up everyone’s day at an airport by turning a flight delay into an open mic session, according to a video of the event.

The man grabbed a gate attendant’s microphone at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and burst out singing Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” at gate B7 while passengers anxiously waited for their delayed flight to arrive, the Daily Mail reported.

Passengers cheered him on as he added some fresh dance moves to the mix, while airline gate attendants joined in with backup vocals.

The video has gained more than 15 million views and has been shared nearly 150,000 times.

Mike Vadala, the Facebook user who posted the video, said that the event occurred after Southwest Airlines staff joked that passengers would have to get up and sing if they asked questions during the delay.

Social media users cheered at seeing the video.

“I love seeing strangers, laughing and enjoying the moment together. We all aren’t that different, at the end of the day,” Dottie Moffitt said.

“I’ve witnessed a few performances at this gate in person. It always cheers up the travelers,” Michael Scott Randall said. “Shout out to these gate attendants for their positive actions.”
